Except for an intrinsic absorption band at ~5 um, diamond has a relatively constant absorption of about 30% from visible wavelengths to microwave frequencies. Diamond’s refractive index also varies little in this wide spectral range.
This low absorption, combined with unequaled thermal conductivity and very small coefficient of thermal expansion are ideal for minimizing distortion of transmitted beams.

Diamond unique properties ideal for hi performance optics!
